Dr. Natalie Chaitan-Maharaj is a seasoned medical professional and first-time UNC candidate for the Arouca/Lopinot constituency.

She is an Obstetrician-Gynecologist with over 15 years of specialized experience in women’s healthcare.

Since 2010, Dr. Chaitan- Maharaj has served at the Mt. Hope Women’s Hospital as a substantive Registrar and part- time Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Her long tenure in public healthcare has involved caring for countless patients and mentoring junior doctors. Stepping into the political arena in 2025, she brings a compassionate, service-oriented perspective, advocating for improved health services and community well-being. Dr. Chaitan-Maharaj is committed to applying her medical expertise to national policy, especially in areas of maternal and child health.
