Saddam Hosein is an attorney-at-law and the incumbent Member of Parliament for Barataria/San Juan. Called to the bar in 2014, he has practiced in both criminal and civil law. Hosein earned his LL.B.

at UWI Cave Hill (Barbados), where he was elected President of the Trinidad & Tobago Students’ Association, demonstrating early leadership in student a^airs.

He completed his Legal Education Certificate at Hugh Wooding Law School with high honors – including graduating on the Principal’s Honour Roll and winning the Justice Wendell Kangaloo Advocacy Award. Hosein entered Parliament as an Opposition Senator for three years before winning his House seat in the 2020 general election, becoming the youngest MP in the 12th Parliament. Now in his early 30s, he has been an outspoken advocate on legal and governance issues and is seeking re-election to continue serving his constituency.
